Jeanne d'Arc Living "Vintage Paint"....coming soon!

So excited to announce that French Vanilla Home and Garden will be one of the first retailers in Canada to now carry the amazing "Vintage Paint" by Jeanne d'Arc Living from Denmark!

The history of paint originally dates all the way back to 14th-century Italy. Even then, pure and natural ingredients such as chalk, clay, mud and even dirt were used to produce paint. Jeanne d’Arc Living "Vintage Paint" is an updated version of the original old chalk paints. This paint combines the original qualities with modern technology. Only natural ingredients are used in the production of this product.

Vintage Matt Furniture Paint is a lime water based and environmentally friendly chalk-style paint that has been developed specially for painting furniture to give it an authentic matt and chalky surface that was common for painting furniture in the old days and so popular today! This paint comes in pretty neutral tones and will adhere to practically any surface with minimal preparation and provides excellent coverage.

We will also be bringing in the book "Vintage Paint / Colorful Transformations which provides useful tips and inspiration on how to achieve the French Nordic look through this wonderful product line!

Signs of Spring.........

Now that we have entered into March, it's nice knowing that Spring is just around the corner. The days are getting longer and in our area flowers are blooming every where. Easter is also earlier this year, happening at the end of this month. Here's a little taste of what's currently happening at French Vanilla Home and Garden:

Hello Bonjour....

Well this is my first attempt at blogging! It's been quite a year and a half for me. I retired from the Federal Government after 34 years and in October 2006, I started a new retail store called "French Vanilla Home and Garden". In July 2007 I launched my store's e-commerce website and now this....blogging! Who would have thought! Has it been challenging?....a bit, stressful?.... some days, rewarding?....most definitely! I love owning my own retail store, filling it with things I love and helping my customers find that perfect item or gift! I am enjoying this new phase of my life and look forward to learning new things, having new adventures and making new friends along the way!
